About the gallery:
Established in 2018, Sumer is a new commercial art gallery in Tauranga, New Zealand.
Working within a project-based setting, Sumer focuses upon the presentation of leading contemporary art by established and emerging artists working in New Zealand and internationally. The intention of the gallery is to support artistic practices that are dynamic, challenging and innovative.
Beyond showing exceptional work, the gallery's key aims are to encourage an appreciation of contemporary art—actively fostering a strong collecting culture in the Bay of Plenty, and providing a destination art venue for national and international collectors visiting the region.
